adv. of negation used with imperative and perfective subj. (in Mid.Ir. also with simple subj.) to express prohibition. In O.Ir. generally written na; Mid.Ir. na, ná; mod. ná. Prefixes h to a follg. vowel. With an inf. pron. 2 nach is used.
