Forms: á, e, a, a

In O.Ir. also á (see Celtica ii 339 - 40 ), e ( Thurn. Gramm. 285 ). Poss. adj. (proclitic form of , q.v.) of 3 s. m. and n. (leniting), 3 s. f. (geminating) and 3 pl. of all genders (nasal- ising). When a numeral intervenes between poss. and noun the usage fluctuates. The older is represented by a nda ara. The poss. of the third person is also used in combinations such as adám my two, adád your two, adár our two. Similarly with trí. See Ériu xi 146 ff. and the numerals , trí.
